Social sailing

Evening social sailing

We have a few dinghy sailors who aren’t give-no-quarter racers, but would like to sail in company and chat about it over a beer or three afterwards. Come to think of it, some of the racers like to potter about, too. That’s the thinking behind our social sails. It’s really just pointing out when tides are (reasonably) favourable on an evening when the club’s open – Wednesdays and Fridays. The idea is to have a group sailing for mutual support. No-one should be sailing on the limit, so formal safety cover isn’t an absolute must. Nevertheless, if it is asked for, we will try to provide it. If PB2 holders want some RIB practice, that’s fine. Please just bear in mind that keeping an eye on the dinghies and towing them home if the wind disappears, are the quid pro quo for the use of Stag 1.

Here are a couple of photos that show what Tollesbury evenings can be like. Would you really rather be watching TV?
