West Mersea - beach huts

The beach huts – West Mersea

I guess we all know that we are lucky to be sailing in one of the best areas in the country, but when a colleague and his wife came to stay recently with their camera, the shots they came back with just brought this home to me. To while away the winter evenings before we can start sailing properly again, you can find all sorts of interesting images of the area on the web.

A search on Flickr for ‘Tollesbury’ or ‘West Mersea’ gives some great photos – follow the links below to have a look:

Alternatively, you could try the same searches on Google images – the results are similarly interesting:

For a more historical perspective, why not have a look at the Mersea Museum image collection:

Try a search on the term ‘Tollesbury’ in the image collection for some lovely old photos of the hard and the Granary.

Finally to while away the time why not listen to Sam Pirt playing ‘Out on the Ocean’ and ‘Spirit of the Dance’ on one of Greg Dunn’s Black Diamond Accordions with some lovely local images. You can just click on the play button below, or follow this link to go to YouTube directly to view the video.
