The annual Wallet Long Race between Tollesbury Sailing Club and Tollesbury Cruising Club was held on 13 June. Organised by the Cruising Club (TSC organise the other inter club race – The Kings Head) the course was set to take the last of the flood up to Osea Island and then back to the Mersea racing marks. The westerly wind had us beating up the Blackwater and the sometimes poor visibility had us wondering where the marks were! The faster boats managed to round the Marconi Buoy before the tide turned and enjoyed a run with the tide back down the river. If you missed the tide there was a frustrating beat up to the buoy against the current.

Some boats needed to get back into Tollesbury after the race but most of us went into Bradwell Marina where we enjoyed the usual well earned drink and a meal in the Green Man.

The race was won by a Sailing Club boat, well done Andy.
